about

Having met and befriended acoustic guitarist Pete Rigg in my formative summer of 1997, we had a couple of impromptu jams before we decided in March of the following year to have a properly-multitracked session at his flat. We had discovered a mutual interest in the music of the Minimalists and this influence had crept into the music we made together.

The initial mixes lay on cassette tapes for 15 years before the opportunity arose to transfer them (via Pete's new digital multitrack recorder) to digital stems ready to digitally mix for a previously unavailable level of control. That March 1998 session eventually coalesced into the album Discussing Clouds, released on the 20th anniversary.
